Do We Have Any Say in Our Tween’s Bad Hairstyles?
It seems that the “new thing” in my tween’s school is to wash your hair, then comb it straight forward and let it dry that way. Kind of like Justin Bieber, but … greasier looking - a bad hairstyle!
Is this the same thing I did to my parents when I teased my hair straight up in sixth grade? Or when I layered six pair of socks and made it look like I was wearing legwarmers? How can we encourage better hairstyles for school?
I honestly can’t remember if my mother tried to talk me out of the mock legwarmers or joined in and wore them with me. Maybe it’s different because I have a boy, and I just can’t relate to his hair being plastered down onto his forehead.
I remember the day when Michael wanted a say in his haircut. I was so excited. He’s finding himself! He’s got an opinion! I thought. I was all for it. But this? I understand that he’s still finding himself, but...he kind of looks like…a… dork.
And someone somewhere is laughing at me right now because Michael’s little brother, the six year-old, wants the same better hairstyle for school.
I know it’s not hurting anyone. And it may even seem shallow. But honestly? His bad hairstyle makes him look a little greasy. And I know he’s not.
What would you do? Drop it and let him be? Ask him to comb his hair another way when we all go out as a family? Try to help him out with a new style? Any tips on tween boy hairstyles gone wrong?

It is the style. Just as Debbie Gibson was the style when you were growing up. You are letting him grow. You are growing with him..It is better than a mohawk with a purple stripe. Maybe next month it with be very short and bleached like Eminem.......
What's wrong with a mohawk? It's hair...you can cut it of or wash it out...it isn't 4ever!? My almost 10 year old proudly jumps into the barber's chair and asks for a #1 clipper cut all over! Chris, his barber almost has him talked into a short mohawk for summertime...just the kind of thing my self conscience and a bit over-protected son needs to loosen him (&me) up a bit. :)
The solution is simple if you use simple divisions. The first division is by age. Kids younger than 12 years old usually do not need very stylish, social hairstyles as teen pressures do not sink in till middle school. Children over 12 will usually look for popular teen hairstyles that are trendy at the time. For younger kids, hairstyles that are simple yet are still a cute look are the best choices. Anything fancier will usually get swallowed in by all the activities and playing as kids do. kabbalah info
Hello! Thanks to the author for the article and all those who left the comment. I was very useful this information. The fact that I'm not very experienced user of Linux and most things learned for the first time. I would appreciate your opinion about data recovery software! How useful is it for the operating system and will not hurt if this tool is the data? Thanks again!

Let him wear it how he likes. I allow my girls to do sometimes crazy stuff with their hair because when else are you going to do it? You can't have purple hair as a working adult, so if you need to do it, do it young. For your son's hair in particular maybe be interested in the style (because weird or not it IS the style) - it sounds like he just needs to blow it dry. Likely he isn't very family with the blow dryer so show him how to blow it all forward. This will still give him the style he's going for but then it will look thicker and cleaner so it won't bother you so much.
