QUESTION
What do you do with a teen who won't blow her nose? She just sniffs all the time and it's driving me crazy!

I agree with both comments. Whenever my older son sniffs or spits or does anything disgusting like that I make him give me mone - 25 cents. Needless to say, he hasn't done either one (in front of me at least) in over a year.

I like the idea of recording the sound of sniffing. It's definitely a worthwhile suggestion and it costs nothing to try. I use a system of rewards and consequences: if my daughter doesn't blow her nose she gets the Neti Pot...and she hates that.

I recently recorded my sons on my phone sniffing. Then, when we were sitting at the dinner table I played it back for them. They were horrified. I told them it was them. They were embarrassed for about 5 minutes and then it all descended into laughter. However, as soon as I remind them to blow now they do. My older one is even doing it more on his own now. Worth a try.
