When I went into the hospital I had never had a child before so I was scared. They hooked me up to the many monitors they had in the room, then came the epidural. It hurt more than I imagined, and felt funny when they hit a nerve and made my leg jump. I had to have my water broken and then a drip to start my contractions, all the while im listening to Rock105. The doctor came in a short while later and I started pushing, I wanted to know what was happening so I requested a mirror. They put the mirror infront of me and thats when I saw my Lil Mans precious head for the first time in 9 months. It was neat to watch myself push and see him getting closer and closer to being in this world. The doctor thought my pregnancy was odd considering I was listening to rock music, he said, "Ive never had a woman listen to this during the birthing process. " The doctor stepped out for a break, while on break my son decided to come down further and he got his head stuck near my hip. My hips were in the process of dislocating and his head was pushing on my left leg to the point that I called the doctor back to my room. We started pushing again and the doctor said if my son wouldn't come out in 4 pushes he would have to do an episotomy. I was against this from the start, I said this in labor to my father who was behind me wiping me head" Daddy please dont let them cut my taint." The doctor said whats a "taint", I had to explain this to a man who was looking at my private areas unlike any other man had before. Once he realised what I meant, he gave me 4 pushes to get my son out, if that failed they had the O.R set up for a C- section. I told him that in 4 pushes my son would be here. Then it started 1, 2, 3, 4 my son was born on push 4 at 12:15 am on October 3rd 2006. He was 7lbs 10 ounces and 19 inches long, all boy!!! My birthday was October 4th, and I had my son on October 3rd.( I knew it would be the first week of Oct. but the doctors said Oct 14th or 21st. ) I took my son home on my birthday, I was 18 when I had him and 19 when I took him home! I thought how odd, but neat! I had the most wonderful birthday present ever, we are inseperable, I think because of the close bond we share with each other and our birthdays being October 3rd and 4th. I named him Aiden, it means " Fiery Spirit " and its Irish ( his fathers last name came from Irish heritage and I wanted to incorporate that into his name) Aiden was a mover and shaker in my belly and always moved and kicked when I listened to rock music, even now at 3 years old he still the same way. Moving and getting into things all the time, thats how much of a " Fiery Spirit " he is! Im glad I could tell my story, its the best one Ive ever had the pleasure of living through and telling.
