My husband and I had only been married for one month when I had conceived our first child. We were shocked and very excited all at the same time. My doctor told me I was due on Valentine's Day. Well, little did I know I would have a rocky road ahead of me. I had severe morning sickness the first three months. I'm not talking about just one time a day, but all day long. At sixteen weeks, we found out I was having a boy. I had wanted a girl, but my husband wanted a boy. In December, I went to the hospital for early contractions. They were seven minutes apart. They gave me a shot and then sent me home after watching me for a little while.

In January, I had more early labor symptoms. I saw the perinatal specialist on January 27, and he said for me to let my doctor know that I was good to go for being induced the following week. I went to the hospital on Monday, February 2 at 3pm. They ripened my cervix that night. They came in around 5 am and started the pitocin, and my doctor broke my water about 6 am. I started having labor about 7 am. I was a 3 and fully dialated. By 11am I was 9 cm. When my doctor came in a little after 2 pm, I was already pushing. By 2:25pm, Jason Miguel was born. He was a healthy 7 lbs 4 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. He never needed oxygen because he was screaming at the top of his lungs when he came rushing out of me. He has a head full of black hair and brown eyes. he looks just like his father, with the exception of my cheeks and my chin.
