I just saw a book at Target yesterday... "I Was a Really Great Mom...Until I Had Kids." I just giggled.

Anyone with more than one kid can tell you that even in the womb your kids were different. All four of my kids moved differently in utero and there personalities match how they moved pretty well...it is funny...my midwife actually is starting an informal survey of her patients because she finds it so fascinating.

With some kids the mere suggestion of a task and they are happily doing it. Some need to think it is their idea. Some would rather do what you think is good idea and you struggle to teach them to think for themselves. Some are high energy and some are lower energy...from birth. To pick any one parenting style and think it will work with all kids is goofy. Our rules and expectations are the same for all four kids but we sometimes have to use different methods to teach the rule.
