Exercise as a top priorit...

Several years ago I woke up one moring, looked in the mirror and realized that I looked so pregnant and flabby. Sadly, I wasn't even pregnant and it'd been a few years since my last child. Hubby had been pestering me to join a gym with him and so I finally broke down and went that night. I had been reluctant to go because I was expecting to find tons of young buff bodies but instead I found most people were like myself. I talked to a couple of other mothers in there, made plans to meet up with them again and without realizing it, I had just taken the first steps toward my new look and feel. I forced myself to go the first few weeks, hired a trainer and started to learn all I could about fitness and nutrition. It wasn't easy establishing a routine and trying to work around work, home and the kids. One of the trainers I had hired finally had to tell me that in order for it to work, I had to make my own health and well being a top priority in my mind. She said there was really no reason on earth that a mother couldn't squeeze in 3o-35 minutes a day to work on her own self. She told me to turn off the TV for one show/sitcom and that would be all the time I needed. She was right-in the time it took to sit and watch one episode of Friends, I could get in a whole good workout and found that I felt much better anyways.
It's now been years since that first night at the gym and I don't even look like the same person. My whole family has benefited by my making exercise a priority in MY life. We eat healthier, we ALL are now members of a family fitness center and hopefully have established great habits that will see us through for the rest of our lives.
