Last year when my son was in childcare I did give them a little something.

I bought an item off of QVC, it was a set of candles, 6, that came with individual gift boxes for giving. I gave his teacher, his assistant teacher, and all 4 of his daycare teachers the same candle just in different scents.

It was great! It came with all the necessary boxes and tags so all I had to do was box them and give them. The set was a great deal. Even with shipping and handling it was less than $5 a candle. And the set was not all Christmasy, it was more holiday winter season. Trees, angels, snow, etc.

I do not believe it has to be an expensive gift, but just a little something to say how much they are appreciated and to let them know you thought of them. I had my son pick which design for which teacher, write the gift tags, and let him give them out.

All of the daycare teachers were so happy to get a little something and it seemed to help bond my son to them.
