With a tight budget for our first child, we had the bare minimum. For our second child, I was determined to get a playpen after so many moms had raved about how it was a "must have". I found one with a bassinette and changing table that fit on top and purchased it. Then my little baby was born at 10.5 pounds and outgrew the basinette and changing table limits within a month. The playpen? She, in her inability to read the raves about how awesome playpens are, absolutely hated it. It soon became an overpriced diaper and toy box for our family room and I realized too late that it's better to borrow, try it out and then buy.
