The Great Powder Incident

Several years ago, when I was taking classes online and juggling classwork, homework, housework, etc., my girls, ages 2 and 3 then, decided not to take naps. I really didn't have the energy to fight them, so I turned on their favorite show, laid out a pallet on the living room floor, and let them watch TV instead. Once they were riveted by Mickey Mouse and co., I scooted to the computer to finish my exam. A short time later, I decided to check on them - they were *too* quiet - and I barely got in the room when I was struck by the minty odor of medicated powder. There stood my oldest, happily squirting the container of powder directly at the ceiling fan, which was, conveniently for her, on its highest speed, while her sister squealed and helped her to spread the fine white powder all over the room. Both girls were coated in powder, our couch was barely recognizable as being brown, and there was this thick dusting of powder over every single thing in the room, including the hardwood floor, the new TV, the curtains, the tables, etc. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, scream, or some combination, so I opted to snap pics of the incident for posterity, and while I no longer have copies thanks to the Great Computer Crash of 2005 (another child-induced phenomenon), it still makes me giggle, lol.
