Do you bully-proof your kids?

A new CNN article suggests that there are ways that you can "bully-proof" your kids, or, in other words, prepare them with a self-confidence that will help them deal emotionally and physically with bullying.

The CNN writer suggests that you do the following to help bully-proof your children:

1. Start early in preparing your child for bullying.

2. Help your child develop a sense of self, which in turn will help build self-confidence.

3. Encourage courageous behavior in your child, which will help reinforce to your child that standing up to a bully is courageous.

4. Be aware of your own behavior, and how it may influence your child's actions.

5. Encourage your children to develop overlapping social circles through involvement in extra-cirricular activities.

Do you think that these tips on bully-proofing help? Do you do any of these yourself? Let us know in a comment!
